[3:132] And obey God and the Messenger, so that you may find mercy.
He linked obedience to the Messenger (ṣ) to obedience to Himself. This was to honor [the Prophet's] worth, and to make things easier for the community by restoring them to the company of an individual from amongst themselves. Surely, being with one's own kind is more reassuring.
