[3:2] God! There is no god except Him, the Living, the Eternal.
He is the One who does not play so as to be too busy for you, nor is He inattentive so that you are left without Him. He is over all of your states the attentive observer (raqīb) of your innermost self. If you are alone, He is watchful over you. If you are in the midst of human beings, He is watchful over you. In sum, however your states circle around you, He is your Beloved.
