-An-Nisâ’ ( النساء )

Al Qushairi Tafsir

[4:97] And those whom the angels take [in death], while they are wronging their souls, the angels will say, 'What was your predicament?' They will say, 'We were oppressed in the land'. The angels will say, 'But was not God's earth spacious that you might have emigrated therein?' As for such, their abode shall be Hell - an evil journey's end!
The allusion in it is to one whose time has come while he is trapped in his lower self and in bondage to his cravings - there is no excuse for him since he did not emigrate to the shadow of His nearness to be saved from the contemptible nature of his lower self, for there is no veil between you and this talk except your whim.
