وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يٰلَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهْ

-Al-Hâqqah ( الحاقة )

Tafsir al-Tustari

But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he will say, ‘Would that I had not been given my book.’That is, because of the foul deeds (aʿmāl khabītha) and disbelief (kufr) contained within it, he wishes that he had never been resurrected and says:
