the best of narratives: by virtue of its lexical expressions and structural composition being inimitable, its manifest meaning (ẓāhir) corresponding to reality and its nonmanifest sense (bā?in) an indicator of the form of wayfaring and an illustration of the state of the wayfarer, as in the case of the [other] narratives put together for that [purpose] but [with this] being more corresponding and more concordant than [any of] them.
