[2:121] Those to whom We have given the Scripture, and who recite it with true recitation, they believe in it; and whoever disbelieves in it, they shall be the losers.
'Those whom We have opened the eyes of their hearts to witnessing Our truth - We have entrusted the ears of their hearts with hearing Our address. We have chosen them by letting the lights of solicitude shine down on them, and We have supported them by confirming the instruction in their innermost selves (asrār). They practice the true recitation and are characterized by the qualities of faith and knowledge. They are the people of special designation (takhṣīṣ) and those who are not with them are the rejected'.
